Applied Intuition Acquires CarSim, an Industry-Leading Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Company

Applied Intuition has acquired Mechanical Simulation Corporation, a provider of vehicle dynamics simulation software most commonly known for its flagship product, CarSim.
Mechanical Simulation has been a technology leader in vehicle dynamics simulation software for over 25 years. Its products—CarSim, TruckSim, BikeSim, and SuspensionSim—provide the most accurate and realistic predictions of real-world vehicle behavior. Mechanical Simulation supports 200+ OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers as well as hundreds of universities and government research groups worldwide.

Mechanical Simulation’s precise vehicle dynamics models complement Applied’s simulation offerings. Together, the two companies will make it possible to analyze vehicle performance in complex simulated environments and validate the safety of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) or autonomous vehicle (AV) systems. Mechanical Simulation’s products will also continue to be available for existing use cases outside of autonomy.
For customers of Applied Intuition and Mechanical Simulation, our products and support will remain the same. Our two teams will continue to support the day-to-day testing and development workflows of our customers and partners. Both Applied’s and Mechanical Simulation’s customers can look forward to seeing improved product collaboration and more rapid feature growth in the near future.
